About the event

Yang Meng is an assistant professor at Peking University, where she is the founder of China’s most influential course on Jewish civilization and the creator of the country’s first university-level Yiddish course. She is also a fellow of the London Centre for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism. Her research focuses on global antisemitism, Holocaust studies, the Jewish exile in Shanghai, and Sino–Israeli innovation cooperation. Prof Meng speaks both Yiddish and Hebrew, and is responsible for the first ever Yiddish-Chinese song.

Prof Meng will share her insights on the shocking new Antisemitism in China and her experience teaching China’s most popular course on Jewish civilization at Peking University. She will also speak to the Jewish experience and history in China and be available for Q&A.
